Hi there, in less than a year, my windshield cracks two times so far, to me, in same spot, about 18" from top, driver side.

Will take a month to get one, system indicates 80 orders before mine.

I'm wondering if all cracks are in same location?

1st time, I though bad luck, a rock or something hits and replace with no issues other than money.

2nd time, same location, that is better than winning lottery, so this time I measured and leaves notes at dealership, I'm expecting to happens again, but I will have records at Toyota of what is happening to complain with evidence.

I'll need to replace it one more time and wait to cracks, same spot, before I can do anything about it, unless I found more people with same problem reason for posting here.

No cracks at all for me after three months

That's definitely no coincidence. That's really really weird though, what would cause that.. hmm...

Definitely make them aware of this and let us know how they deal with it.

I'm pretty sure just replacing it won't do anything

Please do, and if is same location document problem at dealer before you replace it, so then you can complain about it,

Could be a bad welding point on pillars that cause the failure, but needs to be address properly and well documented
each windshield is close to 1k, so that is a lot of money to me, 3 times more than Matrix cost of windshield replacement.

Most insurance plans include windshield replacement.
One year I had to replace a windshield twice due to rocks, glad I did not have to pay for it.

deductible changes from policy/person/company to other,

mine is higher than windshield cost, go after insurance is not an option to me.
Yeah I had to pay $500 deductible for mine. Safelite was over $1000, and there was no other option, except buying direct from the dealer, which I did. $4XX for the windshield, $120 for install.

Mine was hit from a rock on the passenger side, not the driver, but in the 10,000 miles I drove before the rock, I had no issues.

2016 Scion IM- My windshield cracked last year at the drivers side edge of the windshield, about halfway up the length of the windshield. Today, the same thing happened on the same exact spot, however on the opposite (passenger) side. My insurance charges 500 to replace it, but that's too much money to pay for something that I'm 99% sure isn't my fault. This is the only forum/thread that discusses this issue, I'm hoping if I leave this information here others with the same issue will see this and eventually we can take this matter to Scion/Toyota

Sorry you are having windsheild issues. A year in and no issues here.

Just had to replace my wife's windshield, glad it is covered by insurance.

AZ has the free replacement. At least when I lived there in Tucson most other states do not and you have to pay the deductible, chips are usually free to fix as the insurance company 98% of them will pay for it, there is only a couple companies that won't. I do windshield chip repair here in Oregon only .I do not do replacement.
