My Honda Accord just got totaled today. Really upset because I just spent like $3,000 sprucing it up.

Adjustable front upper control arms
Tein flex Z coilovers
Front lower balljoints
All new brake calipers, rotors, Duralast GT pads, Castrol SRF fluid, stainless lines
Parking brake cables
All new wheel bearings
Rear adjustable camber and toe arms
New wheels and tires
with custom alignment

Anyway, I digress. I'm just sad. Before I put in all this work on my car I was debating if I should buy a new car or put money into my current car. I decided it was a better idea to fix my car. I finally had it perfect but it was not to be.

In my research I had decided on a Scion iM if I was going to get a new car.

So on to my question. The wheels on my Honda are 16x7 +50 5x114.3
Looking at tire rack they are recommending the same wheel but in a +40 offset
My new summer tires i put on 3 weeks ago are 225/55/16 and my winters are 205/60/16
So I am wanting to know if the wheel offset will interfere with the brakes or suspension?
Also will the tire sizes I have rub?
As far as the offset, I am willing to install extended studs and a spacer. But I don't want to have a huge spacer if the combined wheel and tire are a problem. I'd like to keep a spacer at 15mm or less for sure. The smaller the better (giggity giggity)

Any input is appreciated

The good news, you could use the wheels but a spacer will be needed. I would use a 15mm minimum but my first choice would be a 20mm. Use a billet aluminum spacer that is hubcentric and you will not have any problems. My buddy uses 50mm spacers on his 911 wheels and even races it with them, never an issue.

The bad news, those tires are too tall. The proper diameter tire for the iM is 25.0". The 225/55R16 is 25.7" which is too large and makes sense as the iM is smaller than the Accord. The 205/60R16 is the same 25.7" diameter. They may fit but I wouldn't use that tall of a tire.
