Hello,
First Post! We just picked up a 2017 iM a few weeks ago and was wondering if there was a way to turn off Gracenote. Using an iPod anytime you try to go to the next track we always get the "acquiring data" and there's a maddening delay before it chooses the next track. And the voice recognition for Gracenote is pretty much useless. And while I'm complaining, I hate that it pulls random album art for the tracks.

We also have a Hyundai and there's an option to turn Gracenote off - Gracenote in the Hyundai has it's own list of issues.

tl;dr gracenote sucks, how do I get rid of it.

Thanks.

The only thing I can suggest is;

Aftet you play your ipod, press the gear looking button (settings) and touch the (turn off screen) at the buttom of the screen. That is what I do, I have a blank screen but still plays music.

Yeah, that's just turning the screen off though, right? It doesn't stop the head unit from using Gracenote's database instead of just reading the data on the iPod as is does it?
It does seem to help on the load time, if thats what you want. You can still use steering controls. This worked for me. I noticed that I dont see the PIONEER symbol on the corolla iM. But I assume it is still the same headunit.
