I can't be the only one who feels like the stick shift is a bit sloppy. 3rd and 5th could literally be the same gate... It's ridiculous... I haven't driven a stick that felt that floaty since my dads old 91 ranger back in high school...
not that you would almost miss it, but that theres so much vague space between (badwording)The only thing I don't like is the LONG throw into 5th, it's so far away from 3rd I don't know how you could miss it. Coming from driving Subarus for the last 6 years I actually love the fact it DOES NOT feel like moving a stick in a bucket of mud. At least it some what notches / clicks into gear. It'll be interesting to see what it feels like after 40-50k miles. I've got 2400 miles on the car now though and have become very accustomed to downshifting from 6th all the way to 4th or even 3rd if I need power (depending on speed/RPM obviously). 5th and 6th are pretty much all for gas mileage. I really see no need for this car to have come with a 6 speed. Should have been a 5 speed in my opinion.
Totally a possibility, especially if this is an issue that many people are experiencing. Do you think it would come from TRD, or would it be aftermarket?I definitely hope someone comes out with a quality short shift kit to reduce the throw... It is a little ridiculous.
