instead of the endless parade of special editions, it would be nice if they invested the time, effort and cash into... you know... new cars...
I like the special editions but I agree with you. If they put in the same effort to a regular model as they did to the special editions then they could really take a step forward.instead of the endless parade of special editions, it would be nice if they invested the time, effort and cash into... you know... new cars...
Agreed, the SE's are cool...but by the time you get to series 9 someone should of started asking a different question...I like the special editions but I agree with you. If they put in the same effort to a regular model as they did to the special editions then they could really take a step forward.
Fair point, Scion doesn't get to decide what models it gets, Toyota HQ decides, tells Toyota NA...I think that this comes down again to Scion better defining what it actually is as a brand. It could go more performance, or more entry level luxury or more budget brand. Asking them to focus on developing a model instead of doing special editions feels to me like we are saying they should do more performance or entry level luxury. instead of making a special edition, just make a regular edition that is somewhere in between what Scion makes now and what this Special Edition is.
Scion doesn't have Execs, its not like Lexus as a fully vested division, its a sub brand of Toyota and falls under the jurisdiction of Toyota NA...I'd like to be a fly on the wall at a Scion exec meeting. I do wonder what they say about business strategy and brand development when no one else is listening.
Of course, it's not like this is some play pen where they let all piggies run free and play in the mud. there is preparation, order, etc.I mean there must be someone who is in charge of the brand even if they get marching orders and final approval from higher ups.
