Scion Sells LESS then Porshce?

Good news for Porsche or disaster for Scion?

Seven years ago the 'youth' oriented Scion brand eclipsed 100,000 annual sales in the USA by selling tC's and xB's to retirees. Now they've sold less cars then Porsche through September.

The picture has darkened over the last year, through the first eight months of 2014 Scion was 10,000 cars up on Porsche. Through the first 8 months of 2015 Scion trails by 2,200 units.

Granted this plays out as Porsche is posting record sales numbers on the back of baby Macan. Has Scions need for a crossover ever been more clear?

That just makes sense with the xb on the way out, waiting most of the year for a new model, and the only other choices being the Tiny iQ and a couple of coupes.
Isn't this article pretty much irrelevant considering all the new models just coming out which should boost sales greatly?
Scion is coming out with brand new models so it would be better to compare sales after Scion has brought out its new stuff. That would be more fair to Scion in my opinion. Also, Porsche is an amazing company that sells tons. Not surprising they are still selling incredible amounts of vehicles.

That's just what I was thinking, right now they're at a turning point in the brand and it wouldn't be fair to use this moment right now to compare. Best to hold out for 6 months to a year to let that momentum stabilize.
And besides that, neither Scion nor Porsche care about this. They are totally different car companies. They don't compare themselves to one another in any way.
