I like this one too, because again the tester admits it is fun to drive, "get's the job done" and puts a smile on his face. :)
I was hoping rowing the gears in this wouldn't be sloppy as that's how its mentioned to be here, but during a time when manual are hitting the chopping block and are becoming harder to come across, it should be a small downside.

This one of those things that when I actually test drive myself may actually work well for me. Waiting impatiently for when I can! Hoping some dealers will get samples early before actual sale date to test drive.
I'm thinking that this might be one of those times that a short throw shifter cage mod will upgrade the feel phenomenally.

I am wondering about that too. Would there be any disadvantages to it?
At first thought, I would think it would make the gears that are further away a longer reach that you would have to lean in to make.....or would the short shifter make those shifts closer?
A secondary question.....If the short shifter is always a good idea, why did Toyota not put one in to begin with? Is it that this type of shifter is more expensive and add costs to each car?
I wonder if they had one of the TRD accessorized cars?

Other reviews have mentioned TRD cars being there, but I don't think this is the one that had that.
It appears to be the same Manual Spring Green car that Moto Man drove and he mentions how it could have been better if it had the TRD coil covers. He subsequently was amazed on how well it took the curves without it.
I think even springs would help and as usual being springs, it'll be much cheaper, a $300-500.

I've never had one so I can't speak specifically about it, but it would seem to me that R, 1, 3, and 5 would be closer, but it might make 2, 4, and 6 farther away as well causing you to "lean in" a little.
Not a big fan of short throw shifters myself. Makes the shifting clunky and I'd rather have the shifter closer to the steering wheel.

Thanks for the input. I have never had one so had no idea. I will probably stay stock.
