If there's one brand we can depend on to keep a manual for now rather than phase it out, it's scion. But what we're seeing is a preproduction model so who knows, maybe they will switch things up and throw us a CVT...... kidding.
Well nevermind the jokes, the Corolla is only offered with CVT now. Its highly possible the auto iM shares CVT with Corolla, especially if the two share an assembly line...If there's one brand we can depend on to keep a manual for now rather than phase it out, it's scion. for sure from a cost standpoint, but that does little for defining the brand as distinct from Toyota.Good chance of that happening.
Looking at it from their end going about it this way with offering up the same engine and transmissions is the best way to go, more vehicles to use the same components just benefits them for the long term and probably for their long term strategy.
So you're talking about a tiptronic? Sort of like what's been on many cars for the last 10+ years? My friend was telling me about a semi-manual transmission. Basically its an automatic transmission where you can shift manually by just tapping the shifter up or down. No finding the gear spot with the stick and also no clutch. What do you guys think?
