Maybe, maybe not. I've learned a long time ago to not worry about things I can't control. This is why I used an AEM FIC for my 2009 Corolla S Turbo. I couldn't get my ECU hacked and tuned by OV at the time and I did't want to wait so I did what I could do and it works great. For something that may not happen![]()

The AEM FIC has been found for a long time and has been time tested. It has also changed over the years and been improved. Turbokits has used them for many years with great success so that made me feel better. On the Scion xB forums there are many people that have used it for tuning even without a FI. There are many PNP harness adapters for a lot of cars making it very simple to install the AEM FIC.I used a AEM FIC/6 when I had a 2003 Nissan Maxima.
Hey folks Mat from OVTune here.
Just wanted to join the forum and see what type of interest there is in terms of calibration and tuning? Are you guys ready for more power?
I am the owner / Calibrator / tuner for OrangeVirus Tuning. We cracked the tune on the Scion iA shortly after release, and are looking to do the same on the iM.
you can see about the iA here: Scion iA ECM Tuning Possibilities - Scion IA Forum
How many people would be interested?
We're looking into doing a lot of development for these cars, as we know they can be turbocharged, and modifications for them should be coming soon. We want to ensure the best calibration offering on the market.
Mat,We just cracked the ECU for the 2009+ Toyota : Camry, Rav4, Matrix, TC, and a few others. All ECUs running the 76F0038AGD processors. Writing definitions for it and will have our first flash result soon.
We're looking into the iM right now as well.
Not to be a Debbie Downer but it has been a long time. They don't seem to have any interest nor respond to repeated inquiries. :crying:Mat,
I have a 2009 Corolla S that I turbocharged with a Turbokits system. I was supposed to have you do my ECU but at the last minute there was an issue. Have you cracked the Delphi ECU yet? Jesse at Turbokits was hopeful that you would be able to tune it so I could go that route.
I also bought a 2017 Corolla iM last year and I'd be interested in what can be done with it too. But please don't forget about my 2009 Corolla S. I want that ECU cracked so badly!!!
Worth a try since it was brought back up. I'll check with Jesse at Turbokits since he knows Mat.Not to be a Debbie Downer but it has been a long time. They don't seem to have any interest nor respond to repeated inquiries. :crying:

I used one on my 2009 Corolla S for 7 years before I turbocharged it. I loved the response that it gave. I was going to look at one for my Corolla iM too. There is also stuff out there like throttle commanders which take the delay out of the throttle response. I am curious if anyone has one. There thoughts on how it performs.
$300, it better do a lotSaw this company at SEMA several years ago, just checked and it appears they have a model for our iMs
Sprint Booster USA - IM
May have to look into it more.
I hadn't looked for others that was just one I recalled seeing, but some time with Google gave me:$300, it better do a lot
Would be curious to know what you used.I used one on my 2009 Corolla S for 7 years before I turbocharged it. I loved the response that it gave. I was going to look at one for my Corolla iM too.
I had a Pivot 3-Drive Throttle controller. I paid $149 for it many years ago and it was worth every penny. I would have paid $300 for it with how great it was.I hadn't looked for others that was just one I recalled seeing, but some time with Google gave me:
https://www.pedalcommander.com/product/pedal-commander-p4-pc55/?motor=1.8L+4-cyl&v=7516fd43adaa <= also $300, on "sale"
PedalMAX for Ford, GM, Chrysler, Dodge & Jeep Vehicles <= no indication of a specific iM model, there is a "fleet" option with knob it appears
Throttle Controllers - VITESSE MOTORSPORTS <= doesn't seem to be any Toyota/Scion options at all.
Would be curious to know what you used.
I bought mine on eBay and it included the cable for the $150. I would look around and see if there are deals like I found.Looks like they are still around. https://pivotjp.com/product/thf_c/thf-e.html
Cost on their site is about $210, plus at least another $45 for cable.
My Japanese is a little.... well... non existent, so not sure about compatibility. Just from what I was able to make out, guessing it probably is.
The throttle controller is wonderful since you can dial in the response that you want. I loved the Sport 4 mode but when the weather was bad with snow and ice I would use the Eco mode to help in slick conditions.I have only heard of the commander one that is listed up above. Do they help out a lot? I removed my charcoal filter from my intake and it is a night and day difference. I am thinking about the throttle control add on but wonder if it is worth it?
