I emailed Scion customer service regarding this as our previous car, a Toyota Sienna, did this when you drove off. Unfortunately, they responded that this feature is not offered on the iM.
If you are in an area where car-jacking is not a problem, no. If you are, then I guess it's subjective. My wife feels safer with doors locked and got used to our Toyota doing this automatically.Seems like a strange thing to leave out of the car, but at the same time, is it really a big deal? Are you afraid you might open the door while driving? I'm sure there are still childs' locks on the rear doors.
That's one thing i noticed a lot about american vehicles, they are loud, with just about everything you can function in them.I got a 2015 Chrysler 200 for a rental after our accident that did this and every time it did it scared the crap out of me, lol. I hated it to be honest, and found it quite annoying. I never owned a car that had this feature before so I guess Im just not use to it... maybe if it wasn't so loud? *shrugs*
It's not listed on the manual so keep us updated!Usually, the option to auto-lock when driving will be available to customize in the body control ECU. I get my iM on Tuesday/Wednesday from our dealership so I'll check it out then with the TDT (Techstream Toyota mechanic laptop) and see what settings I can change in the body control ECU and post it up.
