I was recently at the Canadian International Auto Show and there it was, standing in front of me, a purple Scion iM. Looks like at it's gotten was a new wrap but it was a wise decision to go with the matter purple with gray stripes.

Did this give you any wrap ideas?

As much as I like wraps, Scion did a great job with choosing colors and because of that I rather keep it original. The only thing I would do however is apply a matte film.

Those wheels don't do this iM any justice at all. Better wheel design and even sizing will help it out A LOT.

I think that this purple looks great. What is really great is the finish though. That matte pearly look. I like the streak going down the side of the car with the grey starting out from the headlight.

I love the color on mine. Probably will never change it. I do like the stripe placement and that's about exactly where I had intended to put one. Something subtle like a reflective yellow or silver. Not too noticeable during the day.

But what I'd like to know is what aftermarket parts are on that thing. I see Greddy and RS+R on the across the bottom. A couple others I can't see. Must mean someone made something for it.

I see toyotires, Cyrious Garageworks, RS R and that's it.

Nice roof rack too. Anyone installed one yet?

Do you think we will continue to see more customized iMs? Is it going to be treated like a tuner vehicle?
It is the type of vehicle that attracts tuners and of course regular car owners that just want something to commute with.

This being a forum, you'll see more of that tuning action here, keep an eye out.

It's been lowered, just that the angle of both picture don't help in making that difference obvious. If taken at the same angle, you could easily tell. Plus if its an entry-level spring setup, lowering would be around 1.x to 1.5 inches.

Might have been hard trying to find a purple that can work on an area that gets a lot of heat like a brake caliper.

But even if they just went with better looking wheels that would be enough for me.

I never really thought of how a different color may not be able to handle the heat in certain circumstances. Is that true? Some colors just can't be put on calipers?

Colors and heat properties do not correlate. Your main factors are type of paint used and how the surface was prepped.
Good point that is indeed something to look into. Haven't seen many car makers disclose the paint process. Typically i've seen it mentioned from detailers that have that industry knowledge.
