Problems with Scion iM bluetooth connection

As the title says, I have a problem with my 2016 Scion iM bluetooth connection.

I can connect my bluetooth on my iPhone 6s and speak on the phone via bluetooth in my car and end calls. People can hear me perfectly. I can also listen to music from my phone by bluetooth.

I can not answer incoming calls from my iM. I have to answer them on my phone and then switch it over to my iM's bluetooth. I also can not use the "voice" button on the steering wheel.I can not make any kinds of commands. Whenever I try and do these things it tells me to check my microphone.

I've checked the manuals and have been doing some research since I purchased in November but I can't figure this out for the life of me!

Any advice? Any one with a similar problem?

Take it to the dealer. The deck is covered under warranty and i have seen lots of bluetooth problems on new cars come in our shop. Just take it in and tell them what its doing and if they confirm that its doing what you say they will replace the deck.
Try connecting someone else's phone to the car too. I have a Nexus 6P and have never had any problems with the connection.
There is 2 different Bluetooth connections for you phone on Toyota / Scion vehicles one connection is for multimedia on your phone and the other connection is for the phone itself. Check if both sections are connected. The reason I figured this out, is I use and iPod hooked to the USB connector and it wouldn't let me play the iPod because my phone (Android) had both multimedia and phone connected via Blue Tooth.

it's probably just the limitations of your iPhone. there have been other posts about people having slow reaction time to inputs when using bluetooth on an iPhone. There are many bluetooth protocols that can control different aspects of a phone, iPhone probably just doesn't have certain protocols. It's not just iphone, i for example, can't choose songs with voice function through the bluetooth on the radio, but i can call people through the bluetooth with the voice function. I also can't browse music, but my friend's Nexus can. it just depends on the phone, there's nothing wrong with the car.

To be able to choose songs via voice, your iPhone must be plugged into the usb.

To OP - have you tried doing a factory reset? Both of my phones work fine (iPhone SE & Samsung S6) and never had problems with bluetooth
