Great thing about Plasti-Dip is if it doesn't turn out you can take it off. So I did a little experiment on the front today as I work my way back.

Ugh!.....Why did you do that?....lol....Use Vinyl Overlay!

Sorry I am just a un-fan towards the use of that product on your Pride & Joy. LoL

Similarly, I have seen some terrible vinyl applications, especially on anything with angles.
Looks great from here

So, gonna keep it?
Not sure yet have to finish the job. I was just seeing what reactions I would get. >:D

It came out pretty smooth. Going to put my lip on tomorrow.

That does look pretty nice, but as well, I'm more of a fan of vinyl. Nonetheless, for testing purposes, plasti-dip is great because just like you said, you can just peel it right off.
Didn't have much good luck today. Had both sides masked and after shooting the one side and de-masking my tape edge broke. Let it dry and pulled it off. Maybe too hot and not humid today or most likely I didn't clean it good enough. One of those days. To be continued....

That's the great part. Easy to redo

Plastidip is not very easy to remove ....More of a Nightmare in more ways than 1!....Another reason not to use it...At least w/ vinyl overlay just need to heat it up and peels right off.

Thats because it takes a lil more "patience" and talent to apply Vinyl Overlay to angled areas!... theres a whole technique with vinyl wrapping....The right amount of heat applied to it and stretching of the vinyl too...Once you achieve that status you feel proud of your workmanship....

vs. Spraying Plastidip on and it flaking off or have that wonky texture feel to it.
to the OP, you have to peel the edge tape before the plastidip dries. throw a last wet coat on it and right away peel off the tape to get a clean edge.

it is extremely easy to remove if you get thick coverage like 4 or 5 coats. it's actually way easier to remove than vinyl because you don't need to use a heat gun, or anything at all to aid with the removal and it leaves no glue residue that vinyl might leave. why do you hate it so much are you just that close minded? you've probably never ever used it, just rant on forums because you can. or actually used it once and failed miserably.

Why the heck would I type my opinion about Plastidip if I didnt use it before "duh"?...Come on dude!....And giving an opinion about a product that makes your car look tacky makes me a bad person then?....Geez!

I used Plastidip on my car before..looked good when you first apply it....then after a month it looks like PooP at the time I did apply 5 layers sometimes more...of that stuff and was still a PITA removing it all the way off.
Bad experience

Clearly, you had a bad experience.

It is all about application. As I've said, I've also seen some really poor vinyl application.
yea clearly you didn't read the directions and don't know how to apply plastidip.
Hi,

I've had good and bad experiences with plasti dip. It's cool when it works out and you apply it right. It also sucks when you have to remove it because it didn't come out the way you wanted it to. The perk of it is that it's cheap and easy to use though. It goes both ways, good and bad. It goes both ways with almost anything.

They even have a product to help take it off too if it wasn't applied properly. I think it's called dip-dissolver or something of the sort ?

add to that the many videos out there that show how to use it, and there's a lot.
dipyourcar is a popular channel, lots to learn from.

yep, just take a look at their results and judge from that, not what most plebs achieve with plastidip.
Well, I mean Fonzie or whatever his name is uses the big spray gun thing.. In a closed shop... temperature controlled may I add.
