so the corolla S has the same CVT-iS transmission as our car, but it also comes with paddle shifters. i really want paddle shifters lol, anyone got any idea if they operate on sbus or analog input? i really gotta have this feature lol, the CVT is so much fun to shift with.

Do it! @blueBallz

Looks like its possible....tap into the main wires of the Tiptronic on the main shiffter??

Then add the Paddles to the steering wheel....

Definitely possible, there's a few systems out there that can even turn a regular mechanical automatic to electronic paddle shift !

yea that involves a little more splicing wires. i was gonna do a suprastick on my SC400 to allow for manual shifting but it was 600 bucks just for the controller. i think the best way to do this will be to tap into the shifter wires and just simulate the same signal that the shifter uses to change gears. i'm pretty sure it wouldn't make a difference. gotta take it apart to see what we're dealing with, i really hope it's not mechanical.

Just buy a manual transmission. Putting paddle shifters on a CVT transmission is ridiculous. They're Continuously Variable... Paddle shifters are for things like EVOs, GTRs, or anything with a twin disc clutch and actual gears.

There is NOTHING better about the CVT in this car for a fun driving environment other than a MPG competition. Track, autocross, drag strip, or stop light to stop light the 6spd waxes the CVT with the right driver mod.

i wish there was a way to make it not shift to get the best acceleration possible and no drop in power from shifting which is what a CVT was originally designed for but consumers are whiny little plebs that couldn't handle the car holding it's RPMs in one spot during hard acceleration.
That's how I originally envisioned a CVT would work, a dial you turn to set what RPM you want to drive at. All it would take is a simple software update to do whatever you want as the CVT is infinitely flexible. Someone just needs to make that "chip".
