After debating between LEDs and HIDs I decided to try LEDs first. I got them on eBay from bpsperformance for $79.95US. Very good seller, excellent communication. Told me upfront that he hasn't sold any LEDs for the iM yet, but guaranteed that they will work. One thing he advised was to get canbus modules which he discounted from $20 to $5, however, they turned out to be useless. When I connected them lights wouldn't come on, as soon as I took them out everything worked fine. Hi and Low beams work just fine.

Color is a perfect match to DRLs. Very easy to install. I attached the little modules to the side of the headlight housing with a Velcro, made small cuts in the rubber covers to route the wires with scissors.

I like the little colored bits in the edges of the lights.

I am curious about the Asian characters that you have on the front license plate. What is that?
I didn't notice that until you pointed it out. The heat from LEDs must have melted the licence plate LOL..., just kidding. I edited the pics not to show my plate.

The pattern on the wall looks ok. I think they work good with the projectors. I did not have anyone flashing their high beams at me so I assume that I am not blinding anyone on the road.

The performance on the road in darkness, I'd say about the same as halogen. I was expecting more out of them. I changed between halogen and LEDs twice to compare and decided to keep LEDs . I think HIDs will give you better light out on the road.

What I like about them is how nicely they work without any canbus modules and no issues with auto option.

Hi viiv, you can check my post on my HID install. I build a little circuit to deal with the auto light function, and those new instant on HID kit work well for flash to pass. I am going to aim my light a bit higher

I have seen your post before, good work and nice set up. It helped me in my decision to go with LEDs for now. I like how bright your HIDs are, but my goal is to make as little mods to the OEM set up as possible for now. I've had the car for only over a week and want to drive it with minimum mods just in case there are some parts or manufacturing issues. If some problems come up I can pull LEDs out in 5 minutes and put the stock bulbs and take it in to the dealer. Maybe later on I'll try HIDs.

Here are pics or 1. low and 2. high beams of my LEDs

Nice conversion!

So the canbus modules aren't needed? Plug the bulb and call it a day?

Very good seller, canbus module was useless. Lol just joking with ya. Looks really clean, and that visibility is quite incredible. LEDs have gotten to the point of producing exceptional light output just like HIDs now

The seller was honest upfront. He said that he has never installed or sold these LEDs to anyone for the iM. He said that I might or might not need canbus modules, which are sold by him under different seller name. That auction is Best Offer type and modules are $20. He told me to make a $5 offer and sold them to me for $5, so no big deal.

The difference in the high and low beam seem really marginal for some reason at least in the pictures. The stock halogen on high beam seems to light up more. Is it just my eyes deceiving me?
