Since Scion is the "fun" brand I'm curious if we will see them offer a Manual Transmission? The Aurus already has one for europe...

1.8-litre engine matched to 6-speed manual or 7-speed CVT gearbox

I think a 1.8 or 1.6 liter engine was what's said to make it to the iM, which ever one it is, a manual matched up to it would be awesome.

From the teasers they released they seem to be going the sporty, enthusiast-focused route, so hopefully is it what happens.

the only thing I can see holding them back is cost considerations. When you go to sell a car in the US every transmission and engine combo has to be certified even if its already in another US model. However because the Auris/iM is technically a Corolla there is a possibility that they can circumvent the rules by using existing Corolla drivetrain...

well we know its not for no apparent reason, unless you like grinding first gear all the way to the bank

Different strokes for different folks, I'm non pulsed that you desire a slushbox, your choice right. I'm a big fan of choice, it just bothers me when were monospec'ed.. ah well, dying breed... :crying:

i rather have an automatic as all my vehicles have been like that, but it would be great if the option for a manual can be included so those who want it can get it.

I just figure that because Scion offers an MT in everything other than the iQ its a given the iM will get one as well..

For sure, its part of their attempt to engage a younger sportier audience...
