I was curious if any of you guys know what these extra plugs are. They are located behind the panel on the left side of the dash, where the driver's door closes. There's also a couple in-line fuses in there. They are behind where the blank switch plates are so maybe they are for add-ons like the interior led package?

Hmm... I wonder if I can use that then. I'm planning on doing my own led set-up inside. It would be much easier if there's already wiring in the car for it! If only I had the slightest clue of what is what and where it goes.

New for 2016 Scion IM head light.
Installed new Led headlights 9006 HB4 and 9012 r3 LED both type of LED work perfectly for Lo/Hi beam! First test the LED outside housing just low beam only then install into housing. Lo/Hi beam working good ? I think the headlight housing has Hi/Lo function.

Where did you buy your lighting from and what brand is it from? Even price would be great... or just post the link.

Hey Ben, tell me how many pins these connectors have and I should be able to find out and let you know. Also, could you tell me where the other connectors that branch out at this location connect to?

Hey viiv,

Here are some pictures of what they are. They all plug into that beige box which is located just above the interior fuse box.

Hey Ben,
Did you have any after market accessories installed in this car by the dealer or someone else? Are you the original owner of this car? Is it possible that someone else had installed something in it.

From the pics above I was only able to trace the red green and white wires. The are all tapped into the main body ecu, specifically to interior lighting circuit. I am almost sure of that. These wires did not come with the vehicle from the factory, someone installed them after.

I'm the original owner. There's no aftermarket anything except for what I've installed myself. Only "accessories" from the dealer are floor mats and the bumper protector. That came on the car which came straight out of a Toyota dealer's storage lot, not even their main lot.

i had those same connectors on my IM. They came from a aftermarket alarm the dealer installed, when i didn't buy the alarm, they removed the control unit and left the wires. if you trace the wires the will be tapped to the fuse box.

I double checked. These wires are for the Interior Light Kit PT922-12161. I have no idea why the dealer would put the wire harness in if you didn't order this accessory. That's a waist of money and time on their behalf. Take a look if they put in other parts that come in the kit. There should be a small black ecu mounted on the bracket with a zip tie near the main body ECU. The wire harness should be routed across the IP panel behind the meter, radio all the way to the passenger side.

I'm thinking it's to the aftermarket alarm Toyota installed made by KARR. I opted out of paying for it but seems they left it in there but took out a fuse. Here are pics. I have seen it on other forums too. I'm going to leave it in there for now until I install an aftermarket alarm that way I already can use these wires.
