Hello,
I picked up my 2018 IM CVT Friday. So far, I love it. When I took delivery, the salesman synced my iPhone and it works fine, playing music, calls, texts, etc.. But, he had me download the Entune app to my phone and I'm not sure why. When I try to register and put in the vin number, it says not valid. Hmmm... I have visited the site online for Entune and cannot understand why I need this. I do not have navigation. Does anyone have Entune for the Corolla IM standard infotainment? Why?

Entune is Toyota's attempt at not having Apple Car Play or Android Auto and still providing Smartphone connectivity.

As far as I know, iM's does not come with entune. The vin numbers will only be valid on toyota cars that has entune.

I second that. No Entune for iM. Salesmen are often very uneducated about the very cars they sell. Most sales people also do not care about iM at all, they do not mention it to their customers and dealerships do not put them inside their showrooms.

Welcome! I honestly believe iM is the best value Toyota car on the market today.

Thank you for the replies. When Entune wouldn't take the VIN, I thought the IM was not supported. Since the phone is working with the system, I'll just delete the app. Thanks again!

The factory radio is ok, but if you can I'd replace it with a aftermarket unit. That's what I'm in the process of doing.

im getting a pioneer unit. i decided to skip the kenwood. theres an install deal through bestbuy. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/pionee...ion/9999281700050004.p?skuId=9999281700050004. I've heard good things about the **01nex series. Of course crutchfield says the imaestro datalink module is incompatible, but obviously its not.

**01 NEX is the same thing as **00 NEX, they just bundled in the camera. Just make sure you update the firmware on your unit, I learned it the hard way. I really like how my 4200 NEX sounds right now. Resistive touch screen is very outdated though. I believe you have to get 7200/7201 or 8200/8201 to get the capacitive touch screen.
