OK, so big NEWS. Toyota will be selling people a super hot yaris in order to homologate their WRC car...

Toyota to WRC: 'Help Us Make Better Cars' » AutoGuide.com News

The brand’s WRC effort has already had an effect on Toyota’s road cars, as at least 2,500 rally-spec versions of the Yaris must be sold to public to meet FIA homologation regulations. The small hot hatch will make less power than the race version, using a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine to make around 230 hp. It will feature large wheel arches, a large rear spoiler and a full aerodynamic makeover.

230HP in the weight range the Yaris is in... is amazing!

Sure to get enthusiasts hooked as long as everything else checks in right, but that power rating already signals it being off to a good start.

That does sound really cool and in many ways it will be like the performance version of the Scion iM. I'm sure that some people will go to this vehicle instead of the iM, but I imagine that the price difference will be pretty big. Not a simple upgrade.
