My thoughts at what we know:

1- Obviously the taillights are different, but I could care less one way or the other.

2- Heated seats. Not at all important to me in Phx.

3- They are adding the "Star Safety System." Pre-Collision System and Lane Departure Alert

4- I'm kind of proud to have the Scion iM, a unique one model year car.

The press release does not say if it is going to cost more, less or about the same.

This is the Canadian version, will have to see if there is any difference for the American version.

i do like those tail lights, they're just a continuation of ours, we have the one horizontal line, those add another. the lane departure and pre collision system would be awesome, wonder if an upgrade will be possible.

There is a good chance that those features can be upgraded for current iM's because those features are being offered on 2016 Toyota Auris in Japan as well as those Tail lights.

I just dont know if the corolla iM will still have the independent suspension or toyota USA will get the australian spec corolla hatch with torsion beam

The really good stock suspension is what really got me excited about the iM

I'd like to point out that the headunit is still a Scion headunit in the picture. Rushed photoshop jobs are a Toyota Canada thing, haha.

We'll see everything on the 13th. This is preliminary ****. Could be a badge swap for all I know. My salesguy was right in saying we were getting heated seats for 2017 due to certification issues last year. The precollision stuff is just part of a general Toyota commitment to it.

i have pre-collision, adaptive cruise, lane departure, and radar on my truck. I love the radar. Always know how fast granny is going from 500ft away so I know to slow down. The lane departure gets really old really fast. Any line on the road sets off an alarm when the sun is bright. It'll probably just be an idiot light on a Toyota, right? Adaptive cruise is ridiculous. It tracks cars up an exit ramp or in another lane so you're stuck doing 45 on the interstate until they get out of range or risk the brakes deciding you need to stop. I consider anything that can apply brakes automatically to be nothing but dangerous. The few times it has kicked in it was because of a sign on side of the road or even an underpass (A BRIDGE) with no traffic in front of me. Just slammed to a stop with people behind me scrambling to stay alive. Hopefully it works better on smaller vehicles but I don't trust them.
