I recently installed the oem navigation. The link is the installation manual. I am posting it here because the list of parts in page two have the connectors part number. If anyone is looking for the GPS antenna part number or the connectors.

Is it really much better? Did you change your speakers as well? I think for the price Pioneer 6200NEX is a much better option + even some cheap 4/5 channel amp will sound very decent.

Imho it's much better and I like it. I did not change my speakers. I like to keep my audio and interior oem as much as possible.

Any chance you kept a copy of the PDF? That link doesn't work for me, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere else.

Mainly I'm curious where it says to put the GPS puck.

So does anyone else have the OEM Navigation? Thoughts? Pictures of it? On my new 2017 RAV4 with Nav I love the improvements in the map compared to my wife 2010 Prius.

Does the NAV unit have a better audio/amp section too? I see that Toyota labels it premium audio so is that just because it has Nav too or does it also sound better? I'm happy with the sound of the standard 7" H/U but was just curious.

I did add the OEM Nav unit, have been happy with it. Sound quality is good, didn't have the base unit in long so couldn't really compare between the two. The NAV just bolts onto the base unit, and you plug a few things back in differently.

What the maps look like and the screen for audio, etc. Are the other screens the same as the regular HU? I'm curious if the map looks like my 2017 RAV4 or my 2010 Prius. I've thought about an aftermarket HU but they are all narrower then the OEM space and I hate the look of the spacers. Thanks.

PLEASE, PLEASE get with Android Auto/Car Play Toyota. This is my one biggest gripe with Toyota right now.

Thanks. The screens look like my OEM stereo. The NAV map looks so old and basic though. I think I'll just keep with my stand alone 6" Garmin that I have when I'm on trips. I rarely need NAV around my location as I know where everything is.

Well, it is coming. The new 2019 Avalon will have Apple Carplay. I asked a local car stereo shop about it but it didn't seem like it would be something that I would use much. I like to use my NAV on trips just to plan and see my route but I rarely use or need it around where I live. When I need to check traffic I just use my iPhone and Goggle maps. Not sure what all of the fuss is about it. Too many people paying attention to all of this stuff and not their driving!

Actually they did say that it would be made retroactive for other models but didn't give any more details.
