I have been looking too. Does the boot collar clip on the original knob? Grumpy has the flower knob and I was wondering how the boot was attached to the knob. Ebay has the TRD boot that has a black collar. Others out there too. A tapered knob doesn't look correct so for now only large base knobs will work and you have to secure the boot trim collar or does up stay up on its own?

I was just seeing if there was anything to help. Go here for maybe some info.

Yh the oem boot clips to the original knob..
after hacking the lil adapter that came with my knob I managed to get the boot attached but not fully like in previous picture.. The knobs still a little loose so I will be going to a performance place here to see if I can get an adapter for a firm/tight fit. But anyway let's keep looking!
Also the thread on shifter is 5/16 or 13 mm size I think..

I don't know how to make a link to my other thread but I flipped the plastic piece upside down and reziptied it again to give it a cleaner look.
Like ovmech said, it looks funny with a smaller based knob with the blastic coupler wide, so check out my pics and see that I flipped the piece to make it a narrower base.

Oh I see!
I will try to see what Tokyo performance shop here can do for me first..

I've also thought about getting an adapter (Attached pic(s)) & maybe getting a shop to cut the buttom like the bottom of our oem spec shift knob for a tight fit

OR

Maybe somehow look for another oem one cut the lower Area that attaches to the boot and then drill/attach that bottom to my shift knobs adapter that way it will screw on and attach like stock..

Idk lol I could have found one that has the same thread but I wanted what I ordered on first picture posted (which I could not find any same size thread as our oems)

You flipped over the plastic piece and zip tied it? The plastic piece is not attached to the boot? What did you zip tie? The boot and then stuff it back down the shaft? I'm just thinking but if that is the case is there enough slack without the plastic piece to reach the bottom of his knob maybe and remove the plastic piece altogether? I'm asking questions so I can know what I'm getting into before I buy a knob. Thanks for the help.

If you turn the boot inside out you can see the plastic piece is zip tied to the boot with a clear zip tie. I cut that zip tie and pulled out the plastic cone shape and flipped it opposite and it's narrower on the other side....then zip tied it again with my own black one. Then you turn the boot right side out and voila...drop it back over the shifter. Yeah it does doesn't clip to the new knob but at least the new diameter plastic piece matches the diameter of the shifter better.

Since you have done it how did you remove the shift boot cover? I have a new boot and knob coming.

CVT is 8MMX1.25. Standing on my head and all different positions took me a while to best guesstamate the thread pitch with the gauge I have. I don't have a metric tap and die set and it would be easy to figure out with that. I'm still experimenting on options and here is the boot with a Epman boot adapter. To remove the cover assembly use a non metallic edge and pry up on the corner that is open to any trim. Then remove the electrical connector and it comes off. So far unable to find a black Epman/Sickspeed shift boot adapter in 8X1.25 so I'll have to go with 12x1.25 to 8x1.25 Threaded Insert Adapters.

Kind of tired of waiting for one made as I had no luck with the shops here all they had was ones that would work with push button Autos..
