There is a Scion Round Table event in Kansas City next week. I have a friend here at the dealership that is going next Wednesday (6/24). Hopefully he will be able to report something for us. He is going to hopefully get Scion to think about their past advertising efforts. They used to put money towards events that were Scion driven. Car shows, meet ups, etc. There used to be several Scion only car shows throughout the nation. Now I can only think of 1 due to lack of funding.
is it lack of funding or lack of enthusiasm?
Personally , I think these "events"were ginned up attempts to create a youth interest in the Scion brand. Young buyers are more sophisticated than that now. Good advertising would work just as well, or better. Create an image that way instead.

That's the way it works, it's how they've been doing things for a while now, the last most noticeable one was the FR-S. That showed up everywhere enthusiasts would be, even the concept was brought out.

They have to make those associations.
He is back and said it was mostly a discussion of what models are in the present and future for Scion. Mainly focused around the iA and iM. He said the interior of the iM "looked roomy", so maybe there is a chance for me.

Also he told me to look for a model in the future. He told me to google the c-hr and imagine it with 4 doors and the rear unchanged. But he was kind of hush-hush about it so maybe we will and maybe we won't see it.

I hope the "rear unchanged" is a misstatement and instead he meant cargo room would be added.....otherwise I am not interested.

Did he say anything about the seat height in the iM? I am hoping it is higher than the Corolla's seat height.

But sales have been abysmal for the FR-S. So clearly this didn't help sell the car.

All he said was it looked more roomy than the Corolla.

Thanks..... that probably stems from the higher ceiling all the way back because it is a hatchback.

The approach is great but it still comes down to the type of car and how people respond to it.

The iM could have better luck with the same strategy of being out in public like that, one of a whole list of marketing efforts.
