Hows it going everyone!
I just wanted to know if there are other IM's out there that had something broke already.

My clockspring broke at around 800 miles. I was driving and it just started making clicking noise on the steering wheel.

I brought it to the dealership and they fixed it. I find it really weird that a clock spring will break on a new car.

Fortunately that's more than likely to be some generic part, but when it comes to things very specific to the iM... i wouldn't be all too surprised to hear some people have to wait longer than usual to get parts.

I work at a toyota dealership and the Im I bought and a customers one both had wires not plugged into the deck. Mine didn't have reverse camera and steering wheel controls working. The other one the usb port didn't work. Both were very easy to fix as the trim pops off and the deck was only held in by 4 bolts. Other than that I love it

I had a rattle on my side of the car.

Turns out I got the plastic that covers the knee airbag unclipped at some point, not sure how. My lower door cover was like this too. Probably when I installed my OBD thingamajig.

Otherwise no. I'm finding the car overly simple at times, if anything (dunno, part of me misses quirks/attention to detail and complexity I'd find in my previous car), like the wipers that actually go all the way down when you turn off the car rather than stay in the position they're currently in, or the power folding mirrors that don't actuate automatically. But this lack of complexity also has its advantages, as Lee pointed.

sounds like someone got lazy with the PDI process if you ask me. the only by i would give is the USB port issue.

You are right about the generic parts. I checked the part number of the clockspring that they installed and it was for Toyota rav4.

Even though I thought it will be corolla parts because of interior similarities.

I forgot to post the video of what a broken clock spring sounds like on the steering wheel.

I was trying to edit my post but I do not know how.

There is a TSB for that for the corollas. The fix is to install a carbon cabin air filter in place of the regular one. Unfortunately I believe it isn't covered under warranty and you would have to pay for it. I could be wrong about you having to pay but I'm pretty sure that everyone that came in for that with a corolla had to pay for it themselves.
