Does the iM NEED the scrape guards? Mine came off and got eaten up by the road going on the freeway so not sure if I should replace it or just remove it all together.

yea haven't scraped on a single thing yet, even steep inclines

Only thing I've scraped on was when I first got the car, I guess I wasn't used to clearance and scraped a little on an abnormally tall parking bumper or parking block.
