There could be a power limiter on the back of them or wired to it somewhere. I know the subaru brz has one of those mounted inside of the headlights that cuts the power down to the led drl
the DRLs are very dim, i'll have to take a look at the lights someday to see if there's some sort of voltage regulator that can be bypassed and 12v just run straight to the lights.
Just why? DRL LED's are very bright, very comparable to other more expensive cars. I see their reflection every time I drive behind someone in traffic. If you think of one thing Toyota did right with our iM headlights, it is the DRL LED's.
they're dim as **** and look like someone stuffed some regular light bulbs in there. the stripe is completely invisible from a distance. most people don't even notice there's a stripe, only that ugly ass clump of LEDs in the corner. that needs to be diffused way better to give it a solid shape and a strip added in the stripe part to brighten it.
