So, good news is that our LED tailights have their guts inside the tailight combination so it is still a regular 12 volt source coming to the tailights themselves. Now, you need to remove them and check the connectors to make sure they're the same (very, very high chance they are).
Panel removal (hatch tailights):
-Open the rear hatch and remove the top plastic garnish from the rear window
-Remove the side plastic garnishes from the rear window (you will need to remove the pins that hold the rear parcel tray by pulling the tops up before removing the garnish)
-Remove the lower rear hatch plastic panel (you will need to remove a clip on the left and the pull handle on the right before popping off the panel. It is held into place with pop clips so you can just pull it off)
-Each hatch tailight assembly is held in place by clips and a bolt. Remove the bolt and you can release the assemblies.
The connector should look like this:
Panel removal (rear combination light assembly):
-Usually... procedure is to remove the rear seat, all the side paneling in the cargo area, then remove the light assembly. But, you can most likely get your hand between the panel by undoing any bolts in the area and prying it outwards enough to get your hand in. Then, unplug the connector.
-Each side will have two bolts that you can see holding the lights in on either side of the hatch when you open it. Remove these, then you will need to release the lights carefully as they are now held in by more clips. Pry gently as too much force can, in many cases, crack the combination light assembly.
Once out, the connector should look like this:
If the connectors look like that, I'd say you're ready to install USDM tailights in your Auris
