I found this video from NYToyotaTraining giving viewers a thorough walk through of the iM's interior dash. If you have any confusion as to what a button does, maybe his video can help you answer your question.

This is a great walk through video, sure beats having to look through the manual since having it shown to you like this works better for some folks, even better if it's accessible through an APP (great if you're on the go)
Range to empty is a handy function for the iM. I fill up my gas once a month so I usually squeeze out every drop before I refill but there has been a few close calls. Bad habit of mine. :D

That's the worst thing to do, you damage the fuel pump by doing that and a fuel pump ALONE will run a few hundred bucks for aftermarket, around $500 from OEM.

Going to scrap the old car anyways but thanks for letting me know about the fuel pump damage. Not going to do that anymore and especially not with a new car. :crying:

Owners manuals say not to drive with less than a quarter tank.

I never knew that but it's what i've been doing and suggest that people do.

While it may seem like a lot, it makes sense when considering parking on an incline/decline which leaves you with high and low points, putting the pump at a more vulnerable state.
