What vehicles do you think will be competing with the all-new Scion iM?
Here's what I have so far...

Scion iM Competition:

• Mazda 3
• Volkswagen Golf
• Ford Focus
• Hyundai Elantra GT

I was thinking that the Kia Forte would be a competitor. Similar car and similar brand too as far as its style goes.

@Gotcha, I'm considering the Mazda 3, one of my favorite cars in this segment currently.

I also like the Mazda3. I figure that the Scion iM will be the most affordable though. That is really what is making me look into it.

You'll be pleased to know the Mazda 3 hatch isn't much more than the XB coming in around $18k when the XB goes for mid $17k's, and of course we know the iM is going to be the xB's successor

Really? I thought Mazdas would be a little more expensive. If the prices really are the same I'll have to look more closely at the Mazda3.

Do you think that iM will undersell the Mazda3 though? If it was priced higher then I may jump ship to Mazda pretty quick.

That will probably be the case, a lot of people have picked the new Mazda 3 over many other vehicles, wouldn't blame someone for getting a Mazda 3 over the iM, I know i'm considering it, just waiting to see the iM in full.

I'm liking what I see in the concept now that it is revealed. Now I am just curious how much it will be dumbed down when the production model shows its face. If it can keep some of its more aggressive styling then I will still be interested.

I can see that aero kit on making it to production, they might just end up making the production model really basic and save some of the idea's from this concept for a limited edition version, probably for a release edition model.

variation of the kit will likely be offered as an OEM accessory. Yes it will rival the golf in theory but I don't think it will ever near the golf in terms of volume.

Have you guys seen the new Honda Civic spy shots?
It's looking to be something that has more potential steal away potential iM customers than the current 9th generation Civic did.

Now that i actually see these photo's unlike when I last replied.... I have to say, this is not looking too good. I don't want to have my scion resemble a Hyundai Elantra but of course at a speculated $20k price point... we can't ask for too much.

so, yea, it might look a bit like it's korean competition but still different enough ........ enough to tell the two apart easily.

As far as the whole lower portion of the rear bumper... yeah.

The two do look eerily similar. Especially at the rear hip. It looks identical. I have to say that I don't mind the Elantra that much, so it doesn't bother me that much that the two would look alike.
