In this picture, you can see the rear doors. The handles are cut into the c-pillar kind of like the hrv.

The more I look at this the more it grows on me. The rear looks like it'd be interesting to wash and wax but I'm sure it'll get toned down once it hits production. Wonder if my gf would trade in her tC for it lol

I'm very interested in this car as I don't comfortably fit in the iM (or any current Scion for that matter). I really don't fit in the Juke so I am skeptical. The thing I can't figure out (and prolly won't until the production model) is how you would open the hatch without clipping the taillights.

Not sure. It could have a pull out and then up type motion. Or perhaps a lot more of the back opens than it would appear so the taillights entirely lift up with the rest of the hatch.

Not sure though.

As far as I can see online, the trunk doesn't actually open.

The strangest feature is the rear of the car, which tapers to something that looks like a conventional trunk tacked onto a crossover. It basically takes all the utility and function out of having a crossover vehicle in the first place. But come on, let's allow Toyota some fun here.

Well, that is the concept model so they don't expect people to care all that much about the trunk space.

I understand it is a concept model, but I look at it as a usable vehicle. The video I saw had the Scion guy saying they really wanted the prod model to keep the lights. I just don't see how that will happen. The only possibility of keeping the lights and having a functional t-gate would be to have a Land Cruiser style where the middle has a break and the top folds up and the bottom folds down. But I don't see how the "Scion" budget will allow for that.
