So I removed the entire Resenator plastic box behind the bumper....so the airbox is just there with the hole.

Added the K&N Drop in Filter......Did the usual ECU reset.....WoW....I am actually amazed that drop in filter does make a difference!

Car is a lot louder now....the Throttle response seems to be a lot more sensitive.....and I dont need to use "Sport Mode" all the time...

Thought I share......Most likely in the future will get an INtake

Update from the Upgr8 Dryflow Airfilter That's been an awesome Real Drop in filter.

Quinn still breathes as if it's still new no bogs nothing! throttle response still great!
Haven't need to use the sport button at all! Even at yielding areas where you'd need to slow specially if it's a type of hill. I'm happy with this find!

The flow of the stock box is pretty linear, so ya a good filter and removing the excess intake piping makes quite a bit of difference.

I've been forgetting to update this thread on my change to an open intake.

Bought an AF Dynamic system designed for the Corolla, but it works perfectly on the iM. AF Dynamic Air intake System Kit

About a month in and it is louder and more responsive :-)

Oh the joys of California ;-)

You should be ok without the charcoal filter. Anyone in CA got this?
