when i first looked into this i was so lost so i will try to cover everything.

first to buy the housings you will need to buy them from jpcarparts . com. the part numbers are in the picture below for each side. you will need to send them a inquiry for the 2 parts and your address for a quote for your parts and shipping. when they ask for the info of your car in the inquiry i just out that i had a 2015 toyota auris, i didn't put a chassis number and they never questioned it. they will send you the invoice with a link in the email to pay them through paypal the exact amount for the invoice. once you have done that they will ship them out a few days later. for the actual lights you can buy them off eBay or anywhere you prefer on the internet, i used 2011+ corolla fog lights.

for install this is the way i did it, you can do it however you prefer, I'm not responsible for what you do to your car.

to start you do not need to remove the front bumper. there are 2 smaller pieces of the "skid plate" right in front of the tires/below the fogs. remove the 2 screws and the plastic push clip (see pics)

then remove the housings. on each tab there is a smaller tab/clip on it. i put a flat head screw driver toward the inside of the housing to pry it out while popping each tab out. there is a total of six and its kind of a pain to do.

once those are off the new fog lights will mount from the inside. working on the right one, there is a slot on the bottom left where the fog will slide into, then the two top mounts will screw into the bumper. i didn't use the bottom right screw because there isn't a place for a screw to go.

now to run the harness in the engine bay. to run the wires to each fog light i dropped the left side next to the battery and there is a square opening that leads over to the fog light area. for the right side i ran it in front of the radiator then when i got to the sub frame next the the radiator i moved the foam and pushed the wire through back into the engine area then through the same square as the left side. plus them into the bulbs and screw the skid plates for each side back in.

next remove the fuse on the harness until the end. run the red power wire over to the positive of the battery. blue(ground) i attached to to the ground for the battery to the body which is to the right of the battery its a 10 mil socket.

next is the hardest part, run the yellow wire that is the switched wire to close the relay, i chose to use a screw driver and poke a hole in the rubber grommet that the main wiring harness goes through the firewall, then taped the wire to a short piece of metal hanger and pushed it through. it was a pain lol. it will come out right above the gas pedal on the inside of the firewall.

before your able to see where the wire comes out you'll have to take off the under dash protector. whatever its called, it has 2 phillips head and a clip in the center.

then where the mirror switch is. remove the right side blank and remove the phillips head screw holding that panel in place. then start at the bottom of that piece, to the right and left side of the hood latch and pull it, easy though. working your way up. it has like 8 or so push clips holding it in. (the piece at the top that runs along side the cluster looks like it needs to be removed but it doesn't. it will pop out and then pop back in without removing it).

next pick which spot you want your switch in and remove the blank and pop your switch in. the blue wire i used a self tapper and tapped it into the dash frame. the red wire i used the mirror illumination wire. its the dark green wire on the end of the plug(one row of wires). i just cut mine and used a butt connector and put the red in with one side. this will let the fogs come on with just the running lights and with the headlights too.

20mb image hosting

plug the plug into your new switch, and plug back into the mirror control. pop the dash piece back in. zip tie everything up and put the under dash protector on. put the fuse back in the harness and test it out.

let me know if i missed anything or if you have any questions. it was pretty simple it took me about an hour and a half to do.

finished product-

And the ebay kit is installed!!
perfect fitment
wiring is not plug and play!!! you can use it as is and leave a bunch of wires pile up or cut to length with new connectors.
switch leds are green!!! solution, solder 2 3mm diffused blue leds or 1 blue and white .(ordered)
lense cover honey comb is not covered so the inside of the bumper is exposed,i dont like the way is looks but if you want to match the lower bumper honeycomb then leave as is and trim some black contact paper and put it inside that way the paint of the bumper cant be seen and it blends with the lens cover.or fab a piece to cover the honeycomb in the lens cover.
lenses are easy to align and installs from the inside with 2 screws each(provided)

Now that you have the cover of lift the rear of the board just a bit and wiggle the front part out,the switch bar is inserted in the switch button.
Later ill be posting more pics of the switch but with clear difused led ln the indicator and light blue led on top ,im looking to macth the oem color.

post 46 of this thread!
maybe this help,if not go to trparts4u buy a $63 oem switch witch comes with incadecent mini bulbs and change those bulbs for leds either way you have mod them theres no escape.
i did mine replacing the leds but later decided to use a clear led on place of the blue and then sanded the led a bit more and colored the surface with a light blue sharpie, thats the most you can do to macth the oem color.
For the brightnes of the leds you can paint the front face of the led in black and just leave the sides to iluminate.
If you want to dimm more the leds you can add a pice of white electrical tape on the inside logo face of the switch.

Not a science but if you dont have the tools or skills take the switch to a shop to do the job!
i can help you i have the leds, only problem is im in Puerto Rico youll need to pay shipping and email me the return label for the return.

Those fog lights looks really good on the iM and help complete the car. I can't believe that Toyota doesn't have OEM fog-lights as standard equipment on the North-American iM (or a dealer-installed OEM option), especially considering those gaping cutouts on the front bumper. Heck, even my lovable little 2015 Yaris SE has them standard. Shame how Toyota seems to be disinterested in the U.S. market when it comes to subcompact/compact car options versus what's available in other countries/markets.

I'm considering picking up an iM in the near future, since I need a 2nd car that sports an automatic transmission instead of manual. It's either that or pick up another Yaris SE with automatic instead of 5-speed manual this time. I really love my current 2015 5-spd manual Yaris SE (w/added TRD rear sway bar), and think that I would really like the iM as well - though I am waiting to see what the first iM refresh might look like, in the hopes of them changing the front bumper and upside-down looking headlight design.

Finally got what I wanted after months of researching. Good thing I tested my lights before installation. No issues with the light on button unlike some ppl who got it always on; Switch completely off when car off. Functions as intended.

Switched the color LEDs on the button circuit board to match the theme.
And brah, them LED units are f*#kin bright as ****!!!

Hi all,

I got a slightly different kit where the power wire isn't apart of the assembly that connects to the fog lights. Instead there is a short white wire (power), a black (ground) and a yellow wire that are attached to the relay. These I believe go in the cabin as they connect to the wire that feeds through the firewall. My question is, I don't know where to attach the power line. I've read the auer automotive tutorial which says to tap the 34 pin and attach it to the switch (which I assumed was the yellow wire). When I do connect the yellow wire to pin 34 it allows me to turn on and off the headlights, but I haven't a clue where to connect the power wire to in the cabin or how to keep the headlights on while enabling the foglight switch.

This is essentially the assembly I have:

Any help would be appreciated.

Usually there will be two power connections. One somewhat heavier that goes to the battery then through the relay to the lights. The second will be smaller and goes to the switch for the LEDs in it and to be used to trigger the relay. Attached is the sheet from my kit, which kind of shows that.

I'm probably going to rewire mine like they talk about in this post. http://www.scionimforum.com/forum/electronics-audio-lighting/4673-diy-fog-lights-6.html#53

www.auerautomotive.com Not Cheap but a complete LED fog light kit ,you still have to buy the housings I bought mine from JP Parts $35.00 each plus shipping brighter than the headlights !! Look up Corolla 2014-16 #262-T4R-2N1-17 Kit you will still need to buy another factory switch / Amazon $8.00 the LED has a DRL outer ring then a main center light .Thats why you need second switch I’ve had mine 3 years now no problems :D
